In response to the opportunities arising from the expansion of the Mainland's industrial chain overseas, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) will strive to establish Hong Kong as a centre for multinational supply chain management, with a view to attracting Mainland manufacturers to set up their offshore trade headquarters in Hong Kong, managing all the operational processes of their cross-border supply chains, including raw material procurement, production, assembly, marketing, transportation, sales and after-sale services. The entire production process of an enterprise does not have to be carried out in Hong Kong, but can be managed remotely and effectively through Hong Kong, making good use of a series of professional services in Hong Kong, such as financing, counselling, export credit insurance, risk management, accounting, law, trade arbitration, intellectual property rights, logistics, marketing, and so on.
Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) organised a sharing session titled ‘Hong Kong: A Multinational Supply Chain Management Centre - A Preferred Platform for Innovative Technology and High-end Manufacturing Enterprises to Go Global’ in Qingdao, Shandong Province on February 27, with the theme of ‘Hong Kong: A Multinational Supply Chain Management Centre - A Preferred Platform for Innovative Technology and High-end Manufacturing Enterprises to Go Global’. The event is intended to share with those who are preparing or planning to set up their own supply chain management centres. The event aims to share Hong Kong's strengths in supply chain management, innovation and high-end manufacturing, risk control and financing, listing environment and legal protection with enterprises that are preparing or planning to go global and are also engaged in innovation and technology and high-end manufacturing.
The promotional activity in Qingdao city have fully demonstrated that Hong Kong is actively building a high-value-added supply chain service centre with the unique advantage of ‘one country, two systems’.
