Laoshan nearby the mountin and the sea, so local people always have the habit of using Laoshan water to boil the bean jelly with gelidium.
The processing technic of bean jelly with gelidium was evaluated the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Qingdao in July, 2015.
The gelidium grows on rocks in the sea. When the spring tide falls, These gelidiums on the rocks will be exposed with purple color. It has many branches. So many local people also called it cowhair vegetable. Its main ingredients is AGAR, which has the jelly at most. One catty can product 40-60 catty bean jellies.
