Feb 21, 2025Byiqingdao

This winter, Qingdao's ice and snow sports market has seen a surge in popularity. Major ski resorts and ice rinks have expanded and upgraded, actively exploring ice and snow-themed cultural tourism resources. This has enriched the variety of "ice and snow +" and reigniting interest in ice and snow consumption.

During the recent Chinese New Year holiday, Qingdao capitalized on the festive travel season by introducing an outdoor sports route, making ice and snow sports a major highlight of the Qingdao tourism market. Ski resorts, sports venues, winter hot springs, and other locations collaborated to connect tourist attractions, offer unique ice and snow activities, and enhance the new trend of ice and snow tourism development and consumption.

Traditionally, winter is considered a low season for cultural and tourism activities in most cities. However, in recent years, the growing enthusiasm for ice and snow sports has led to the continuous flourishing of China's ice and snow economy, serving as a significant driver of economic growth.

As Qingdao's ice and snow economy and sports sector continue to develop, the industry is consolidating rapidly, with a corresponding increase in ice and snow consumption. Currently, Qingdao boasts seven outdoor ski resorts and four indoor ice rinks. The expansion of these venues is expected to further boost interest in ice and snow activities, creating new opportunities for consumption.
