On the evening of July 10, the theme gala “Symphony of the City: Celebrating 30 Years of Qingdao's Symphony Orchestra Development” was successfully held at the Qingdao Grand Theatre.

The gala comprised 15 performances, including symphonic renditions, choruses, recitations, narrations, and video presentations, revisiting the glorious journey of Qingdao's symphony orchestra over the past three decades and reinforcing the commitment and conviction to stride confidently into the future.

The creation and construction of a city's symphony orchestra is an important measure of the level of development of the city's music culture and a pivotal symbol of its cultural soft power. A repertoire of famous compositions and tales of inspiring stories narrate the splendid journey of Qingdao's symphony orchestra development, collectively illustrating a thriving and deeply rooted scenario for the symphony cause in Qingdao.

To further propel the growth of Qingdao's symphony orchestra and infuse the city with more fashion and romance, since June this year, a series of events have been launched, including an exhibition showcasing 30 years of achievements in Qingdao's symphony orchestra development and the "Citywide Symphony Season." These activities aim to illuminate the glorious trajectory of the past three decades, polish Qingdao's reputation as the "Island of Music," foster the art construction of Qingdao, inject new vitality and energy into the Chinese-style modernization of Qingdao, enhance the cultural and artistic literacy of the public, and satisfy people's aspirations for a better life.
