To further promote and showcase Qingdao's image and assist in the construction of Qingdao as a modern international metropolis, the “Art China · 2024 Qingdao International Watercolor Art Season” will be launched in late June.
This year's art season has established the Guanlan International Watercolor Grand Prix, which solicits works from domestic and foreign audiences, organizes awards and evaluations, and showcases outstanding works at the Qingdao Art Museum. At the same time, with the theme of “The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting,” we invite famous international teams and award-winning authors to visit Laoshan to conduct natural and cultural collections and watercolor art research.
International media jointly promotes the Watercolor Art Season
The 2024 Qingdao International Watercolor Art Season is supported by watercolor associations, art universities, and professional institutions in Qingdao and multiple provinces and cities in China. Through watercolor as a medium, we aim to use the eyes of international artists to see Qingdao and China, allowing foreign artists to objectively, rationally, and truthfully evaluate China. We aim to spread Qingdao’s story to the world and better promote and showcase its new achievements in development, natural and cultural elements, and new image.

The Qingdao International Watercolor Art Season has launched an invitation to artists from all over the world since March, soliciting works from influential and well-known watercolor artists and watercolor art institutions from the United States, Australia, Russia, the United Kingdom, Spain, Brazil, Moldova, Canada, Italy, South Korea, Malaysia, and other countries, to show the new images of the ever-changing world in the form of watercolors with the famous watercolors of China.
Artists come to Qingdao to paint “The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting”
During the 2024 Qingdao International Watercolor Art Season, a team of world-renowned artists and representatives of award-winning painters will be invited to hold sketching activities in Laoshan Mountain and many other areas of Qingdao. During this period, artists from home and abroad will go deep into the city’s nature, humanities, society, and new productivity to deeply experience Qingdao’s natural charm, city humanity, and new-quality development, leaving wonderful artworks to show the beauty of Qingdao’s mountains and sea through international perspectives.
