From May 9th to 10th, Leena-Kaisa Mikkola, ambassador of Finland to China, led a business delegation to visit Qingdao. This is the first official visit of the Finnish Ambassador to Qingdao in recent years, as well as the largest European delegation to visit Qingdao since the pandemic. During her stay in Qingdao, the Ambassador and her delegation attended the Shandong-Finland Business Cooperation Matchmaking Conference (Qingdao) and visited Shandong Port Group and other enterprises to promote exchanges and cooperation between Qingdao and Finland in different fields, such as marine economy, bio and circular economy, energy and clean technology.
On the afternoon May 9th, Geng Tao, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Qingdao Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor, met with the ambassador of Finland to China, Leena-Kaisa Mikkola and her delegation, and introduced the Ambassador to the economic and social development of Qingdao, the friendly relations and economic and trade exchanges between Qingdao and Finland.
Representatives from 110 Qingdao and Finland enterprises had in-depth discussions and docking at the matchmaking conference, covering various fields such as green and low-carbon, digitalization, maritime ports and consumer goods.
