On the morning of June 29th local time, the launching ceremony of the Image Collection Activity the “Story of Roses” was successfully held in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Roses symbolize peace, friendship, courage and love and have been loved by people all over the world for thousands of years. From ancient times to the present, roses have not only decorated people’s daily lives, but also inspired artists’ creations. We hope that through this image collection activity, we will promote multi-field and deep cooperation between Shandong Province and Bulgaria, continuously enhance the development of innovation, give full play to our cultural advantages and show our unique cultural charm.
A short video on the theme of “Roses in Shandong” shown at the launch ceremony told the historical origin of this cooperation. Pingyin County, Jinan, is one of the main production areas of roses in China. As early as the 1950s, Bulgarian rose experts came to Pingyin to investigate and study the local traditional rose cultivation industry.
The “Story of Roses” Image Collection Activity called for image works on the theme of roses to the people from Chinese and Bulgarian audiences and more countries, vividly showing the beauty of roses and the charm of culture and promoting exchanges and understanding between China and abroad.
