Qingdao People and Gulls Live in Harmony

Byiqingdao

In winter and spring, seagulls gather on the seashore of Qingdao and fly up and down, forming a unique and charming romantic scenery.

Going to the seaside to feed seagulls at the trestle bridge has become a popular activity for many citizens and visitors to Qingdao, and a favorite way for many people to get close to nature.

Every year in late autumn and early winter, the arrival of seagulls makes Qingdao, a warm city, more lively, and the harmonious coexistence of people and gulls becomes a beautiful natural picture.

For more than 20 years, the number of gulls wintering in Qingdao has increased from 2,000 in 1994 to more than 100,000 today, thanks to Qingdao citizens’ action to “keep the gulls”.

In recent years, Qingdao has increased its efforts to manage the water quality of Jiaozhou Bay and the surrounding environment. After the treatment, the proportion of Jiaozhou Bay’s excellent water quality area has been greatly improved.

Nowadays, there are a large number of gulls and other wild birds inhabiting the coast of Jiaozhou Bay. Every winter, a large number of people and tourists are attracted by the gulls to come to the seashore to feed and enjoy the gulls. The picture of people and gulls playing together in harmony has become a new city card.

Have you been to the trestle bridge to see the seagulls recently?
