Qingdao first joined hands with the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race in 2005, and then the Clipper Race visited Qingdao for the first time in 2006, after which the “Qingdao” has participated the race and been a stopover for eight consecutive years. This year, the "Qingdao" has won the overall championship, showing “a vibrant ocean city and a livable and lovable city” to the world.
