The National VI Innovation Centre (Qingdao) was unveiled on November 12. By implementing the spirit of“achieving sci-tech self-reliance and self-strengthening higher levels”at proposed in the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the innovation centre, to be operated by the Qingdao VI Research Institute, will tackling generic focus on technological bottlenecks that hinder the development of the Chinese VI industry, build a platform integrating generic technological research and development, testing and verification, detection, technological service, talent training and international cooperation, establish an industrial innovation ecosystem that covers the VI industrial chain and facilitate the high-quality development of the VI industry.
The Qingdao VI Research Institute was registered in March 2019, all 18 share holders are the leading enterprises in virtual reality, covering parts and components, complete machine, core tools, content application and investment. After three years of construction, the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has recently given an official reply that the Nanchang VI Research Institute would take the lead in building the National Vl Innovation Centre in collaboration with the Qingdao VI Research Institute.
According to the general requirement, the National VI Innovation Centre will set up the top six platforms, namely the technological development platform for key VI components, the platform for VI content development and application, the technological development platform for architectural BIM and AI integration, the platform for VI medical simulation and application, the platform for VI development tool chains and the platform for complete VI machine R&D and testing, and is poised to build a world-class base for innovation in the AI domain.
