The Qingdao Preeminent Entrepreneurs Selection and Awarding Method was recently released, according to which Qingdao is set to select preeminent entrepreneurs every five years and to award them up to RMB2mln. This is the first time that Qingdao will have entrepreneurs handsomely awarded in the name of the city.
The event will select one to two “Qingdao outstanding entrepreneurs”, 10 “Qingdao industry-leading entrepreneurs” and 30 “Qingdao outstanding entrepreneurs”. Qingdao outstanding entrepreneur title winners, Qingdao industry-leading entrepreneur title winners and Qingdao preeminent entrepreneur title winners will be each awarded RMB2mln, RMBlmln and RMB500,000, respectively. Award funds will be disbursed from municipal finance and remitted to title winners’ personal bank accounts as stipulated. Furthermore, all entrepreneurs winning the titles will be granted the “Qingdao entrepreneur service card”,giving them preferential treatment in medical care, transportation and children’s education.
To date, Qingdao, which boasts 32 China national preeminent entrepreneurs, 115 Shandong preeminent entrepreneurs and 490 Qingdao preeminent entrepreneurs including Zhang Ruimin and Zhou Houjian, leads the Chinese cities in the number of national and provincial title winners. Under their leadership, many famous enterprises, including Haier, Hisense, Tsingtao Brewery, DoubleStar and Aucma, have burgeoned, injecting uninterrupted vitality to Qingdao’s economic development.
