On the morning of July 3 Egypt time under the witness of Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi EMUs developed by CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co.,Ltd., carried passengers and pulled out off Adly Mansour Station in Cairo marking the successful trial operation of the 10th of Egyptian Ramadan railway constructed by a Chinese enterprise. This is the first time that EMUs made in China rode in Egypt.
The EMU under pilot run is among the first batch of intra-city EMUs in Egypt. With a designed maximum speed of 120km/h and six carriages, the EMUs can hold a maximum of 2,222 passengers.
All these modern EMUs, tailored by CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co., Ltd. for Egypt based on the local operating environment, feature vanned technology environmental adaptability and people-oriented design, and have reached the international advanced level in comprehensive performance.
It is said that CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co., Ltd. is responsible for providing all EMUs for the 10th of Egyptian Ramadan railway project generally contracted by the joint venture between China Railway and AVIC International.
