On July 8, Qingdao Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, Information Office of Qingdao Municipal People's Government and the Long Beach-Qingdao Friendship City Committee held an online exchange meeting to discuss the progress of the digital pen pal exchange project for university students from the sister cities and related publicity work, and reached a preliminary cooperation intention.
At the meeting, the Long Beach-Qingdao Friendship City Committee introduced the organization's transition. Eduardo Vargas succeeded Susan Redfield as the new chairman of the Long Beach-Qingdao Friendship City Committee. Vargas has served on the Long Beach-Qingdao Sister City Committee for a long time and has been actively involved in promoting the friendship between the two cities.
The two sides agreed to hold a special video meeting in the near future to further intensify working ties, increase the enthusiasm of exchanges, and establish a normalized communication mechanism, which will help to increase publicity efforts, tell stories of sister-city cooperation, and promote the continuous deepening of the sister-city relationship between the two cities.
