Today is White Dew, or Bailu, the third solar term in the autumn and the 15th of the 24 solar terms which have instructed the Chinese agricultural activities since the ancient times and it falls on September 7 this year.
During the period, while lunchtime is still hot, the temperature in the morning and at night drops dramatically. Before dawn and after sunset, the vapors in the air condense on the surface of grasses, flowers, and trees, into dew. It looks white and crystal clear, hence the name.
After White Dew, the weather is turning cold gradually and autumn has arrived. Let’s say goodbye to the hot summer and welcome the cool autumn!
