The 2022 World Industrial Internet Conference was held from Dec 15 to 16 in the eastern coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province.
The event gathered academicians, experts and industry giants from domestic and foreign industrial internet fields to share cutting-edge theories about the digital economy.

"Shandong is one of China's economic powerhouses with a big population and strong industrial foundation," said Ling Wen, vice-governor of Shandong province, in his keynote speech delivered during the opening ceremony.
"Shandong has all 41 industrial categories, and it is the province with the most complete industrial categories, the strongest foundation, the most complete structure and the most complete supporting facilities," Ling noted.
"Shandong has been stepping up efforts to promote the development of the industrial internet, and has cultivated four national level platforms such as Haier's COSMOPlat. The province will continue to strengthen the ecology of the industrial internet to provide a first-class environment for the development of local enterprises," Ling added.

"The city of Qingdao has been working hard to boost the development of the industrial internet, and the city has launched a series of measures to support enterprises with their digital and intelligent transformation, as well as build automated production lines, digital workshops and intelligent factories," said Geng Tao, vice-mayor of Qingdao.
"Qingdao is striving to become a global industrial internet hub," Geng added.
Nearly 20 parallel forums and exhibitions with rich content and various themes were held during the event, which was intended to contribute to the city's development of the industrial internet industry.
