The fully automated container terminal at Qingdao Port – owned and operated by Shandong Port Group, based in Qingdao City, east China's Shandong Province – on Monday set a world efficiency record for the seventh time, with its average efficiency reaching 52.1 moves per hour of TEUs – twenty-foot equivalent units, the standard container size – for a single crane. That performance smashed the previous record of 47.6 moves of TEUs per hour set by the team there on December 17.
