China's Chen Yufei claimed the gold medal in the badminton women's singles final on Sunday. She defeated Tai Tzu-ying of Chinese Taipei 2-0 (21-18, 19-21 and 21-18).
Chen, 23, a two-time bronze medalist at the world championships, harvested her first Olympic gold in her Olympic debut.
