December 3 marks the International Day of Disabled Persons, an annual observance proclaimed by the United Nations in 1992, which aims to promote the rights and well-being of people with disabilities and raise public's awareness of their situations.
China has over 85 million people with disabilities. But it has made remarkable progress in recent years. This year's theme is "Leadership and participation of persons with disabilities toward an inclusive, accessible and sustainable post-COVID-19 world."
Every life deserves to be treated with respect, and for people with disabilities, equality is the greatest respect.
