Qingdao Poised to Attract More German Enterprises

The Sino-Germany Ecopark in Qingdao, Shandong province hosted a trade and industry match-making event on June 17 to enhance cooperation with German enterprises.

The event was attended by 50 senior representatives from the German Chambers of Commerce, Qingdao officials and enterprise representatives from both sides.

In view of the investment and trade issues that German enterprises are concerned about, the Qingdao commerce bureau and the industry and information technology bureau introduced the city's economic and trade exchanges and investment and cooperation opportunities in the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25).

The event is an important part of "Explore China" event hosted by AHK Greater China. The event is aimed at bolstering cooperation and exchanges between the two countries.

AHK Greater China, part of the German Chambers of Commerce Worldwide Network, is committed to the investment and economic relations between China and Germany, and provides a full range of services to over 2,700 member companies through business, investment and membership channels.

More than 30 German enterprises, including Fortune Global 500 member Continental AG, have settled in the Sino-Germany Ecopark in Qingdao.

Located in the Qingdao Area of China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, the park has become an important window for Qingdao's reform and opening up. It is presently home to 3,600 enterprises, has secured cooperative ties with 28 countries and regions, and boasts 70.1 billion yuan ($10.87 billion) in fixed asset investments.
